About Cigar Deals Online

“I've always wanted to create a cigar price comparison site that gives people the feel of something like kayak.com so they can buy the type of product they want at the best price.”

That is the whole idea. Travel sites made it normal to search once and see every airline's fare side by side. Buying cigars online still mostly means opening a dozen tabs, and the stores price the same cigar in different pack sizes, so the cheapest-looking listing often isn't. We do that legwork for you: pick the cigar you want, and we show you where it costs the least.

Every listing is converted to a price per cigar, using the pack size printed on the store's own page. A box of 20 and a five-pack are compared on the same footing, and a listing whose pack size we cannot read reliably is left out rather than guessed. When we say one store is cheaper, we mean cheaper than the next-cheapest store, per cigar.

You can browse by brand, search the full catalog, or see every store we track.

Every tracked store is checked once a day, starting at midnight Hawaii time. We read the stores' live product pages, so the price we record is the price a shopper would have seen at that moment. Out-of-stock listings stop counting toward the best price immediately.

Every price we record is also kept in a price history, which powers the charts on each cigar's page and the price trends view, so you can tell a real drop from a store's normal price. Prices can still move between our check and your click; the store's own checkout is always the final word.

Price is only half the decision. CigarScore is our 0-10 rating that combines published critic reviews, each calibrated against that critic's own scoring habits, with buyer ratings. Cigars no critic has reviewed get a separately labelled Smoker Score built from store star ratings. The methodology page explains exactly how both are calculated.

Beyond everyday prices, we collect store markdowns in the deals hub, flash sales on daily deals, and the stores' current coupon codes on each retailer page. We also compare cigar-of-the-month clubs by price per cigar. Signed-in visitors can watch a cigar and get an alert when its price drops.

The same comparisons are available in our free Android app on Google Play, which adds push alerts for price drops and a personal smoke journal and humidor.

We don't sell cigars and we don't charge for the site. When you click through to a store and buy, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you.
