Frequently Asked Questions About Connecticut Cigars
Essential knowledge on wrapper characteristics, flavor profiles, and aging.
Why are Connecticut cigars grown under shade?
Growing tobacco under sheer cheesecloth tents filters harsh sunlight, resulting in thinner, silkier leaves with lower nicotine content, lighter pigmentation, and subtle sweetness.
What is the difference between US Connecticut and Ecuadorian Connecticut?
US Connecticut Shade is grown directly in the Connecticut River Valley and tends to be lighter and creamier. Ecuadorian Connecticut is grown under natural Andean cloud cover and exhibits slightly richer body, spice, and oil content.
What are the best Connecticut cigars for beginners and connoisseurs?
Top choices include Davidoff Signature, Padrón Dámaso, Ashton Classic, Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real, and Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Natural.
