I am reviewing AJ Fernandez Dias de Gloria in a 5.5 x 52 Robusto. The blend is a recent release from celebrated cigarmaker Abdel Joséf Fernandez. Días De Gloria literally translates to “Glory Days.” This blend is AJ Fernandez ‘s tribute to a time gone by of the pre-Castro glory days of Cuban tobacco. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The blend is a Nicaraguan puro with tobacco all coming from Estelí, Nicaragua. Specifically from these farms: Finca los Cedros, La Providencia 1, La Lilia and La Soledad. It comes in four sizes: Robusto 5 ½ X 52, Gordo 6 X 58, Toro (box-pressed) 6 X 56, and the Short Churchull 6 ½ X 48. All comes in boxes of 20 and range in price from $9 to $12.

This AJ Fernandez Dias de Gloria Brazil Figurado was a great cigar, and I would smoke more of these in a heartbeat. I don’t find the price to be bad, and it’s nice to smoke a good Mata Fina release again. The cigar has creamy chocolate notes, and it had this faint hot chocolate and mocha profile that I loved. The burn and draw were great, and it was complex from beginning to end. Nice transitioning and depth.
