Alec Bradley The Lineage Robusto

Cigar Aficionado · Aug 1, 2018

Topped with a pigtail cap, this robusto smokes evenly with a clean burn and full draw. It's a toasty, creamy smoke with some salty elements, a bit of earth and a toffee sweetness.

Alec Bradley Lineage

CigarCzars · Dec 11, 2019

Alec Bradley Cigar Company was founded by Alan Rubin in 1996, and was named after Alan's two sons. The Lineage was added to the company's Family Blend line of cigars in 2014, to commemorate the founder's sons reaching/exceeding the legal smoking age of 18. Alec Bradley Lineage is a Honduran cigar made with a Honduran wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and a blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. Lineage cigars are available in several sizes, including the Robusto (5¼ x 52) sampled for this review. As can be seen in the photo, these cigars are constructed with a pigtail cap (except the Torpedo). Five-packs of Lineage Robusto cigars can be purchased online for a modest price of about $32, which works out to an average of $6.40 per stick. The Lineage Robusto cigar began with a medium bodied and somewhat creamy flavor with just a hint of spice. However, during the first few puffs, there was also a slight sour taste in the background. In less than five minutes, the sour notes completely disappeared, and a slightly sweet taste emerged as the cigar became creamier and very smooth. The cigar had a good draw, even burn, and held a long ash. No relights nor touch-ups were required during the 45 minutes that it took me to smoke the cigar down to two inches remaining. Except for the first few puffs, the Alec Bradley Lineage was a most enjoyable creamy and smooth cigar that deserves a rating of 4 points on a 5-point scale. Following the Perdomo Champagne and Illusione Epernay cigars, the Lineage would also be a good choice to accompany a fine bottle of champagne. Also a very good choice for beginners and mainstream cigar smokers who just prefer smoother and less potent cigars.
