Partagas Decadas 2021

CigarCzars · Dec 2, 2021

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2021 is a limited edition super-premium cigar made in the Dominican Republic with a Brazilian-grown Cameroon wrapper (a first for Partagas), Connecticut Havano binder, and a blend of proprietary Nicaraguan filler tobaccos along with some Dominican Piloto Cubano. The cigars were released during November 2021, and are available in one size, a 6 x 52 Toro that is priced at $17.99 per cigar. For more information, please refer to thepress release. The sample Partagas Decadas 2021 Toro began with a very pleasant, naturally sweet and slightly earthy tobacco flavor. After the first few puffs, a modest peppery flavor emerged and balanced perfectly with the sweetness. The cigar was medium-plus bodied at this point, let's say 3+ on a 5 point fullness scale. This 2021 version of Partagas Decadas is made with a different wrapper leaf and blend than the previous 2019 & 2020 editions, and has a more distinctive flavor. After the first 15 minutes, the flavor became more mellow and creamy with hints of nuts. The taste was just delightful. After 25-30 minutes, the cigar needed a minor touch-up and the body moved up slightly to about 4- on the fullness scale, at the lower end of being considered medium-to-full. At the 45-minute point, a cedar taste began to emerge. The sweet and peppery flavors were still very noticeable, but were becoming more subtle. The cedar taste gradually intensified during the next 10 to 15 minutes, when the cigar went out and needed a relight, with about 2½ inches left. I smoked the cigar for another 15 minutes, down to just under two inches remaining, for a total smoke time of 75 minutes. The Partagas Decadas 2021 limited edition cigar is very well made and has a very good draw, mostly even burn, and holds a long ash. I really enjoyed the first 60 minutes of this cigar, and rate it with an outstanding 4.75 points on a 5-point scale. It is a super-premium stick and a bit pricey, but it is definitely the best new cigar that I have smoked during 2021.

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2021 Toro

Cigar Aficionado · Feb 8, 2022 · Cigar Insider

The dark and toothy wrapper of this toro is somewhat veiny. It’s a big and woody smoke with an up-front salty earthiness followed by a red meat character and a hint of baking spices. The draw and burn are even throughout.

Partagas Decadas Limited Reserve 2021

Kaplowitz · Dec 28, 2021

Suede | Citrus | Earth Fusty & dusty. Leathery & spicy. Calmly sneaky sweet. Gently-prickly. I'm just typing out what comes to mind. Liquid notes on a dry stage. Let's call it stiff suede, candied lemon on a sandy beach. Herbes de Provence, ooh-la-la and no shortage of accompanying je ne sais quoi... stored in dusty wooden spice rack. Nicely toasted cereal grains. Trailing anise off a black peppercorn front, subtly. A bit of fruitiness on the far-out, ma-a-a-nnn. Exceptionally balanced and brimm

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2019

Blind Man's Puff · Apr 3, 2020 · July 2019

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas made a return again last year after previously being seen in 2005 and 2009. This is said to be one of the best of General Cigars’ Partagas brand. The 2019 limited version of this cigar was shown off at IPCPR. The vitola of the 2019 release is one of the same original four sizes used by Ramón Cifuentes, on the original Cuban version. It is a robusto that measures 5.5″ x 49 and sells for $14.99 per cigar. Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2019 comes in crystal tubes in boxes of 10 that sell for $149.99. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The company says only.3% of their Cameroon wrapper leaves are used for the Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2019. Each leaf goes through aging for 10 years. The remainder of the blend uses Honduran San Agustin binder, and Piloto Cubano from the Dominican Republic, and Ometepe from Nicaragua for the filler.

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020 Dalia Tubo

Stogie Press · Sep 30, 2021

Back in 2020, General Cigar Corporation released a very special Partagas cigar. Known as the Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020 Dalia Tubo, it features extremely aged leaf not only in the select Cameroon wrapper but also in the filler and binder. When I say extremely aged, I’m talking a minimum of 12 and max of Read more about Cigar Review: Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020 Dalia Tubo – Rated 89[…]

Partagas Decadas 2021 (Toro)

Cigar Coop · Jan 4, 2023

In 2005, General Cigar Company would release a limited-production cigar known as the Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas. The Decadas was highlighted by a ten-year-old Cameroon wrapper with aged tobaccos. The series would run until 2009, but during that time the Decadas was a popular one among cigar enthusiasts. In 2019, after a ten-year hiatus, the […] Key flavors: Malt, Lime, Baker’s Spice, Earth, Pepper.

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2021

Cigar Dojo · Apr 6, 2022

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2021 is a limited cigar that produces a thick, earthy mouthfeel. Its construction is dense, making for a tighter draw, but overall might be a plus, especially for those looking for a more drawn-out experience. The mixture of earthy, creamy cashew and black pepper makes for an enjoyable, luxurious smoke. Care does need to be taken though, as the wrapper is on the fragile side.

Partagas Decadas 2021

Halfwheel · Feb 27, 2022 · November 2021

After smoking the first Partagas Decadas 2021, I was dreading having to smoke the next two cigars. The first cigar was a mess: constant relights, a wrapper that was falling apart and a cigar that made noises. Fortunately, the next two cigars were much better. But even at its best the Decadas 2021 isn't as good as many of the Cameroon-wrapped cigars from General Cigar Co., let alone the larger market. I am curious to smoke this cigar in a few months when the air is a bit warmer to see if things taste different, but more importantly, I'm curious to see what else comes of Cameroon-seed tobacco grown in Brazil.

Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020

Developing Palates · Feb 18, 2022 · November 2020

The flavor profile of the Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020 was a fairly smooth mix of earth, wood and black pepper, but it wasn't anything all that exciting. I could see a fair number of smokers enjoying the smooth profile, but with the high price point and average flavor experience, it's not something I really see myself returning to. This was just a bit too basic to keep my attention.
