A dark, lumpy toro with an even draw and burn. Sweet elements of maple candy, dark chocolate, vanilla and some dried fruit rest atop a hearty core of hickory wood. The finish remains sweet.

This type of cigar is the most difficult for me to score. During each segment, there were some puffs that were great but there were also some lows. It was the worst in the second third, when a higher percentage of puffs were impacted by the tongue-coating sensation that really muted the flavors. Fortunately, the final third was a lot better. I’d love to know what the cigar tastes like without that issue and with better draws and combustion. The final third shows that there’s a good profile to be had, but I couldn’t find it for much of the cigar.
