Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut Nicaragua Bully
Cigar Aficionado · Aug 1, 2023
While this cigar starts out lightly, with creamy, toasty notes and floral impressions, it gets richer showing profound vanilla notes, a cashew nuttiness and a warm fruity, cinnamon finish that calls to mind apple pie.

Hanging Christmas lights on my house is the kind of hard work that calls for a cigar, so I’m smoking one from the legendary Cuban-legacy brand, Romeo y Julieta. I’m enjoying Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua in a 6-inch-by-50-ring Toro. Although most non-Cuban Romeos are made in the Dominican Republic, a Nicaraguan edition exists today as well.Read full review on Holt's Staff Reviews
Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Connecticut Bully
Halfwheel · Apr 1, 2020 · October 2019
I am a big fan of Nicaraguan tobacco in general, so I was really looking forward to what the unique Connecticut wrapper used on the Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Connecticut brought the table. What I found was a profile that had a couple of really nice, fairly unique flavors—including a dormant unbuttered popcorn note that combined with a much too light honey sweetness on the retrohale—but unfortunately, there is a distinct lack of complexity that is the hallmark of some of the better Connecticut-wrapped blends. Having said that, other than a few minor touch-ups, the overall construction was decent enough and the strength was light enough that it never threatened to overwhelm the profile. None of the different Romeo y Julieta 1875 releases I have reviewed have blown me away, and although the Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Connecticut joins that list, it is a well-made cigar at an attractive price point.

The Romeo Y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Toro is an average, albeit pleasant light-medium bodied cigar that will be popular with the Connecticut Shade category of cigar smoker. The strength never goes beyond medium, and the flavor intensity won't scare away casual smokers. With an attractive price point, and a 2+ hour smoking time, you're getting a significant value proposition with this cigar.
