This is the second time that the Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Corojo blend makes an appearance on our annual list but thanks to a recent rebranding, you may have missed it. In our Top 25 of 2017 list, the Casa Fernandez Aniversario reached #2 in the lancero format. This time it was the robusto that clawed its way into the Top 10.

Late last year, Aganorsa Leaf re-branded their Casa Fernandez Aniversario Corojo as the Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Corojo. This is the same concept they executed the year before with the Aniversario Maduro. The boxes and bands were refreshed with the Aganorsa Leaf logo and the removal of the Casa Fernandez name. The Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Corojo comes in four sizes: 5×54 Robusto, 6 ¼ x 52 Toro, 6×58 Gran Toro, and a 7 ½ x 40 Lancero, all are box-pressed. Each size sells for $13.75 except the robusto which is $12.99. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The original Casa Fernandez Aniversario dates back to 2013 when Casa Fernández released a cigar to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the company called the Aniversario Bohème No. 35. The next year, they company followed that cigar up with the the Aniversario Serie 2014 Ares. The line then went on to become a mostly annual release and eventually seeing a maduro version and many other vitolas.

The Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Corojo is the rebranded version of what was known as the Casa Fernandez Aniversario. Except for the name change, the blend remains the same: a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and fillers. The cigars are sold in 10 count boxes, and they are made at the small factory located […]
