Davidoff Maduro Toro
Stogie Press · Dec 28, 2025
Back in mid 2024, Davidoff brought back the acclaimed Maduro to the market after an 8 year hiatus. The original was introduced to the market in 2008 but was discontinued in 2016. Speed up the film to 2024, and Davidoff tweaked the blend and reintroduced the cigar at the Procigar festival in the Dominican Republic Read more about Cigar Review: Davidoff Maduro Toro- Rated 95[…]

Davidoff Maduro Robusto
Cigar Aficionado · May 21, 2024 · Cigar Insider
This robusto is as strong as its inky wrapper suggests. Notes of earth, oak and pepper are accented by touches of leather and dark chocolate for a boozy, rum-barrel finish. Bold and balanced. Tasters experienced some inconsistency with the draw and burn.

The Davidoff Maduro is back again in a completely new blend from the original 2008 release, with its oily Ecuadorian maduro wrapper contrasting sharply against the pristine white oval band of the beloved Davidoff White Label collection. From the first whiff, you're treated to rich aromas of baking chocolate, ground coffee, black pepper, and sweet raisin, setting the stage for an exciting journey. The initial cold draw surprises with bold notes of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, spicy chili, and sweet fermented tobacco, while the smoking experience begins to unfold into earthy dark-roast coffee and red pepper flavors that thoroughly coat the palate. The slow, consistent burn line teases a long, leisurely smoke, with a unique flavor blend of damp wood, wet coffee grounds, and pepper maintaining intrigue throughout. As the cigar progresses, a dried raisin sweetness adds a new layer, though it mutes earlier notes. The journey concludes with heavy black pepper notes, providing a bitter and harsh finish to an otherwise enjoyable smoke.

If there's one thing that I will remember about the Davidoff Maduro Robusto, this blend takes almost no breaks when it comes to sensory stimulation working out my taste buds from start to finish. It does so with a profile that is driven by dryness for the majority of the experience, with fleeting moments of sweetness on the palate and creaminess in the nose breaking up the otherwise consistent profile of terroir, earth and pepper. While the basic flavor notes might seem familiar, they were also distinct enough that putting accurate words to them was a bit of a challenge, making for what would be the other thing I'm likely to remember about this blend. This isn't what I would call a typical maduro with a heavier, richer flavor; rather, it's more lively than the standard Davidoff blend. I found the cigar both interesting and engaging enough that I would want to have at least a handful more of on hand to revisit down the line, though I could also see this profile being either too much or too hard to pin down that it could be harder to embrace. For me, I'm letting the distinctive experience and flavor win out.

Developing Palates · Jun 10, 2024 · April 2024
The Davidoff Maduro Robusto had an enjoyable flavor profile for the first and second thirds, with the profile evolving into heavy earth through the last third which was out of sorts from the rest of the flavor profile. The draw was slightly into the resistant spectrum, while the burn performance was the lowest score possible with seven re-lights required through the review experience. With all of that said, the overall flavor delivery was good, with the cigar certainly in the over medium strength for a Davidoff.

Cigar Journal · Jan 31, 2025 · Top 25 New Cigars of 2024: The Complete List (Rank #4)
After a certain sharpness on the tongue, the typical Maduro sweetness spreads after the first few puffs. Strong flavors of wood and freshly roasted espresso represent the basic tone; light earthy notes at the end.
