Well-built and verily-so. Even draw, tight seams, no hard/soft spots, and the box-press holds perfectly. Combusts in a cruise-control manner on a slight curvature. Pacing is moderate and temperature of smoke is cool 'nuff all the way through. Voluminous smoky-smoke off each end both active and resting. Ash is a medium-to-dark grey marbled and somewhat aerated stack a' dimes. Black Pepper Chocolate (semi-sweet, fudge) Cayenne Baking Spices Cuban Coffee Molasses Leather (Boot) Grains Marshmallow (

Just before the 2017 IPCPR Trade Show, Espinosa Cigars announced they had been working with AJ Fernandez to refine and repackage the blend of the Espinosa Murcielago. As the Trade Show opened, Espinosa debuted the new packaging for the Espinosa Murcielago. Previous versions of the blend had red and black bands that now have a new black and silver holographic band. The red and black boxes are now a natural-colored box. Today we are reviewing the Espinosa Murcielago Robusto. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The blend still uses a Mexican San Andres wrapper on Nicaraguan binder and filler. It is being launched in two box-pressed sizes (Robusto and Toro) and one rounded size (Rabito). The cigars are packaged in 20-count boxes.

Just prior to the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show, Espinosa Cigars announced a return of the Murcielago line. The Murcielago (which is Spanish for “bat”) is a brand that was originally released in 2009 by EO Brands, the partnership between Erik Espinosa and Eddie Ortega. In 2012, Espinosa and Ortega dissolved the EO Brands and divided the company’s […]

With many well-aged maduros turned to ash, the blend was successfully duplicated, and is enthusiastically described by the Espinosa team as being “Even better than the original!”

Echo-Hale’s smooth draw initially produces bits of earth, spice, and an underlying sweetness. Dark chocolate hits first on the retrohale, followed by subtle dashes of spice and distant stone fruit. Spice hangs heavy on the finish with a dark chocolate undertone.I get a bit distracted and take a slightly extended break between draws, and the da

This is a very nice re-introduction of the Murcielago and one I would go back to often. This would be a good evening/after dinner cigar based on the full and dark flavors along with the strength. Fans of the previous Murcielago's and those that are Espinosa fans are sure to find another favorite here.
