Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto

Halfwheel · Aug 19, 2024 · October 2018

Numerically, there’s not a long list of flavors, nor much in the way of dramatic flavor changes. Yet, the Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto remains the best Gran Habano I’ve smoked and an extremely good cigar. Few cigars will ever engage in the type of sorcery that this is capable of. It’s not about how rich the flavors—though they are rich—or unique the flavors—the types of flavors are pretty pedestrian—but rather how they hit the palate. I don’t know the science of what’s going on, but the familiar flavors—nuttiness, creaminess and woodiness—are able to be tasted in ways that I rarely ever taste them in cigars. Hopefully the current production of Blue in Green remains as it was on debut, because those original cigars appear to be every bit as good as they were in 2019.

Stogie Press · Jan 25, 2021

Back in 2018, I had the pleasure of sampling and reviewing a new blend from Gran Habano Cigars known as the Blue in Green. That review was based on the Churchill vitola and scored a spot on our top 25 cigars of the year for 2018. Today I would like to offer a review of Read more about Cigar Review: Gran Habano Blue in Green Corona – Rated 91[…]

Gran Habano Blue in Green Churchill

Cigar Aficionado · Oct 1, 2023

The creamy smoke of this cigar finesses the palate with subtle, sweet notes of almond cookie, vanilla and honey that precede a cinnamon spiciness and cedary intonation. It all leads to a nut-and-honey finish.

Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto

Cigar Coop · May 12, 2019

Prior to the 2018 IPCPR Trade Show, Gran Habano Cigars announced a cigar called Blue in Green. If the name Blue in Green sounds familiar, it’s probably because that is the title of a song from Miles Davis’ album, Kind of Blue. The Blue in Green is a regular production Connecticut Shade. This “Gran Habano […] Key flavors: Cedar, Cream, Berry, Pepper, Herbs.

Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto

Cigar Dojo · May 8, 2019

While Kurt Kendall certainly holds the trademark on the name “Dog Walker,” this cigar is perfect for a morning stroll with man’s best friend. You have to hand it to Rico for blending a cigar that certainly deviates from his norm, but not so abrasively to be distracting. He clearly put time, care, and hard work into this blend in order to achieve a clear desire for not just excellence, but difference. If you smoke heavier cigars, this needs to be your first cigar of the day; not because it lacks flavor, on the contrary, you’d hate for its incredible nuances to get lost in the shuffle of previous cigars.
