Gurkha 35th Anniversary Torpedo

Halfwheel · May 14, 2025 · October 2023

By some measure, this might be the smoothest new cigar I’ve smoked in years. Up until the final third, there was simply no pepper, and even when I finally got some sharpness, it was very mild. So, if you are looking for a cigar that avoids a burning flavor at just about any cost, this is a great option. Unfortunately, the bargain isn’t one I’m particularly fond of. While the flavors weren’t bad, they were mostly acceptable and rarely ever crept into the "good" category, let alone "great." The Gurkha 35th Anniversary Torpedo is not a bad cigar, but it’s probably not a good sign when the most notable aspect is what I didn’t find.

Gurkha 35th Anniversary Toro

Developing Palates · Mar 1, 2024 · October 2023

The Gurkha 35th Anniversary Toro had an average flavor profile throughout. The stale, dry, toasted cedar was the main player and didn't really set a tone for an exciting smoking experience. I appreciate the low cost for an anniversary cigar, but it just didn't deliver on flavor, and that's what I'm here for. I don't see returning to this cigar.
