The front porch has become one of my go-to places to enjoy a fine cigar. With a toddler in the house, the opportunity to sit back and relax for an extended period has become rare a treat these days. Now that my daughter is down for a nap, I have a few hours to kill, and I plan on taking full advantage by going to one of my all-time favorites, La Aroma de Cuba Reserva. As you’ve probably noticed by now, I am a huge fan of San Andrés wrapper. The collaboration between Ashton and the García family at the My Father factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, continues to produce exceptional cigars. La Aroma de Cuba, a brand with roots stretching back to 1880s Cuba, has found a home in Nicaragua. The Reserva line, a follow-up to the acclaimed Mi Amor, consistently performs well in our tastings, and this box-pressed Divino is no exception. Notes of cocoa, cinnamon, and roasted nuts ride on a rich, creamy texture throughout.

Big and softly pressed, this dark Churchill burns evenly with an open draw. It’s a spicy, fruity smoke, showing notes of dried berries, ginger, nutmeg and clove.
