This cigar has a toothy wrapper and burns well. Cedar and nutty intonations of pecan leave a toasty graham cracker finish with a touch of minerality on the palate.

Overall, this is a damn good cigar that has classic flavors I've become accustomed to from La Palina, without being boring or sacrificing quality and construction. La Palina red is a solid cigar at a solid price point. And while it may not be the most complex cigar, it should make for a great way to start a night of smoking, with approachable flavors to get your taste buds in the mood...

The La Palina Red Label is the latest addition to their regular production. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. Since being resuscitated by Bill Paley, grandson of founder Samuel Paley, La Palina has become one of the most popular boutique brands around. The La Palina Red Label is made at the PDR factory in the Dominican Republic and is sheathed in an Ecuador Habana wrapper atop an Ecuador binder and Nicaragua and Dominican long leaves. Red Label was blended to offer a lot of complexity and flavor while keeping it relatively mild in it’s strength.
