Nub Connecticut
Holt's Staff Reviews · Apr 16, 2020
As Spring finally kicks in and people can venture out to enjoy the warmer weather and fresh air, it’s time to smoke cigars outside again. For those who are forced to take a “winter break” thanks to cold conditions, getting to smoke outside is a major relief. Not everybody has a man cave or a local cigar lounge to light up in when the snow is falling. I figure what better way to get back in the springtime groove than with a creamy, smooth Nub Connecticut 460.Read full review on Holt's Staff Reviews

Today we take a walk down memory lane with a cigar that started my "career" as a blogger, the Oliva Nub, in the Connecticut format.Read full review on The Cigar Authority

Blind Man's Puff · Sep 28, 2020 · February 2020
The Cain FF was originally only released as part of an event only Studio Tobac sampler from back in 2011. It was super limited it wasn’t until this year, 9 years later, that it was officially released as its own entity. The original size was a 6 x 52 torpedo and not under the Nub brand. This new iteration is a 4 x 64 Nub torpedo vitola, but still the same blend. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. Cain FF is an even stronger version of the Cain F, which is the strongest cigar in the Oliva portfolio. Cain F cigars are blended using all Ligero filler from Jalapa, Condega and Estelí, Nicaragua and the FF has more Ligero from Estelí, a powerfully strong tobacco.

Kaplowitz · May 23, 2017
An excellently behaved cigar with velvet hand and mouf; each a tick warm. Cocoa butter and cloves over coconut and cedar. Dry lemon rind'd under-belly.

Halfwheel · Jul 19, 2012
There are a lot of American-themed cigars, unfortunately most are quite bad. The Camacho Liberty is an overpriced shadow of what was once the pinnacle of the company's creativity, the CAO America is my least favorite of the company's current portfolio, the Alec Bradley American Classic might be passable for a $5 cigar—but it's far from Alan Rubin's best. Ironically, the best American-themed cigar is one most Americans can't pronounce, Tatuaje's American puro, the La Casita Criolla . Here was an average tasting cigar with poor construction, unfortunately another disappointment for the American-branded cigars. The NUb USA isn't awful, but it's a bit off from Oliva's norm, far from the best NUb and most certainly my least favorite creation to wear a STUDIO TOBAC secondary band.
