Partagas Valle Verde is a new, full-time collection that debuted this year as the first Partagas blend to be crowned with a Mexican San Andrés leaf. John Hakim, brand manager of Partagas said: “Partagas Valle Verde builds on the Partagas tradition of rich, refined blends and calls upon its rich Mexican wrapper to deliver a unique smoking Read more about Cigar Review: Partagas Valle Verde Toro – Rated 93[…]

Ground pepper | Pine nuts | Molasses Spearmint and other vegetal notes. Avacado and lime candies. Hold on--that can't be right--let me take this green band off. OK. It's amazing how the human mind works. There's a really interesting complexity of spices and (yes) herbs. White & black pepper, clove, and a hint of nutmeg. Something like sage? I'm hiding the band. It all plays next to and somewhat folds into a sweet-mineral graphite earthiness. Brined mushrooms are somewhere in that earthiness. Wha

Earthy and herbal, this dark cigar draws and burns evenly showing some hints of coffee bean, minerals and a bit of dark of dark chocolate on the finish.

Earth, wood, cocoa butter, a dash of chocolate, and a pinch of spice pour through the smooth draw. The retrohale favors earth, wood, and a bit of cocoa butter. Spice takes lead on the finish, leaving room for cocoa butter and maybe something else that vanishes instantly.Unfortunately, all five Valle Verde cigars I received did not have an op

Partagas Valle Verde cigars are made in Honduras with a Mexican San Andres wrapper, Cameroon binder, and a blend of filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Mexico. Valle Verde is the first Partagas cigar to have a San Andres wrapper. These cigars became available in July 2023, in four vitolas including a limited edition Belicoso, and are distributed by Forged Cigar Company. The size reviewed here is the Partagas Valle Verde Toro (6 x 52) priced at $8.49 per cigar. For more information about these cigars, please check out thepress release. The sample Partagas Valle Verde cigars began with a generous spicy flavor right from the start, along with subtle hints of sweetness in the background. After about 10-15 minutes, the spice and sweetness began to moderate a bit, but the spicy taste lasted 5-10 minutes longer in one sample before starting to tame down somewhat. Beyond that point, a leather flavor gradually became more noticeable and was more predominate than the spice after another 30 minutes or so. The body was medium-plus, not quite venturing into the medium-to-full range. After an additional 10 minutes, a relight was needed, and then the texture of the smoke became smoother with a surprising creamy taste entering into the mix. These flavors lasted until the end of the smoking session. The sample Partagas Valle Toros lasted for one hour and 20-25 minutes down to just 1½ inches remaining. The cigars had a very good draw, mostly even burn, and held a medium-to-long ash. Except for one relight around 50-55 minutes into one of the cigars, there were not any construction issues worth mentioning. The sample Partagas Valle Verde Toros were very good cigars worthy of a 4+ rating on a 5-point scale. The samples did not smoke exactly the same, but that is seldom the case with most cigars. One was marginally spicier near the beginning and another creamier near the end, but overall they were enjoyable throughout and are a very good value at $8.49 per stick.
