Medium-Full Strength Origin: HondurasWrapper: Barber Pole (Honduran Corojo + Maduro)Blender: Rocky Patel

Notes:Black Pepper Cedar Baking Spices Floral

A striking barber-pole release in The Edge family, spiraling Honduran Corojo and maduro wrapper leaves together over a Honduran binder and Panamanian and Nicaraguan fillers. The two wrappers trade off through a medium-to-full smoke of black pepper, cedar and warm baking spice, finishing on a gentle floral note.

Rocky Patel The Edge A-10

Halfwheel · Mar 28, 2016 · May 13, 2015

What a difference nine months make. I had no real intention of reduxing the Rocky Patel Edge A-10 today, but I needed something to redux and I looked around a humidor and this was the first thing I saw. While I didn’t really remember the specificity of what I had to say last July, I did remember that I found the cigar to be somewhat below average thanks to a harshness that I oftentimes find with regular versions of the Edge. The pepper is still there, but it’s so much more controlled and palatable. In odd way, I think the cigar has less complexity, particularly in the amount of flavors, as it once did, but the balance has improved immensely. Turns out I did mention the concept of reduxing the cigar when I originally reviewed it, and I’m glad I did. While it wasn’t free of burn issues, the one touch-up versus the near constant correcting I experienced when i first smoked the cigar make a huge difference in the score below.

Rocky Patel Edge A-10

Cigar Coop · Dec 27, 2015

The Rocky Patel Edge A-10 is the seventh (and latest) blend to be introduced to Rocky Patel Premium Cigars’ Edge line. The line was originally launched in 2004 and was meant to be a value-priced offering. It was originally packaged without a band in rustic 100 count boxes. A lot has changed since then, as The Edge would […]

A barber-pole cigar rolled with two wrappers. First puffs of wheat and tea become increasingly intense as the cigar burns, with sweet cedar and spice emerging later.
