The Room101 The Big Payback Connecticut Chavala hooked me from the start. With a combination of a visually pleasing light wrapper and band combination, the extremely soft and luxurious wrapper and the intriguing aroma coming off the wrapper, I immediately was ready to like this cigar. I’m sure all those things put me in a good mindset to enjoy the cigar, but the fact is that it has to follow up with a good smoking experience. That’s exactly what the Big Payback Connecticut did however, with each sample consistently producing an enjoyable experience from the time I took it out of the cellophane to the time I set the final nub down in my ashtray. With the profile and construction being more than impressive, I can easily say that this is one of my favorite releases I’ve reviewed this year. The great news for you though is not only is this Room101 release going to be readily available all the time, but you’ll also pay a very reasonable price for it too. Consistently good, easily available, and reasonably priced—I think that’s a combination that should make any cigar smoker feel appreciated.

Snickers | Earth(spiced) | Coffee It would sure be nice if this thing didn't have a 'Snickers vein.' Other than its enormous size, it's moderate in all ways. An engorged perceived value. According to the Talmud, Moses stood 15' tall. Not the same-same insofar as sentiment but I'm in the mood to talk size. Blue Whales are about the length of three school buses. I always thought school buses were an odd unit of measurement. This cigar is roughly a Snickers and a half. I actually get some Snickery

Room101 Big Payback 70s Maduro cigars are made in Honduras with a U.S. Broadleaf wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The cigar measures an enormous seven inches in length with a 70 ring gauge. These cigars became available in August 2024, and are priced at $8.99 per stick. For more information about these cigars, please check out thepress release. The sample Room101 Big Payback 70s Maduro cigar began with a modest sweet and earthy flavor. The smoke was medium-to-full bodied, and not at all overpowering. These flavors held on for about 50 minutes into the smoking session. During that time, a minor touch-up was needed at the 30-minute mark to keep the burn even, and a very long ash finally fell off by itself at the 45-minute point. About five minutes after that, the flavor began evolving into a more citrus and cedar taste, as the sweet earthy flavor began fading away during the subsequent 20 minutes. A mostly cedar taste then remained pretty consistent beyond that point. After 85 minutes of smoking time, I ashed the cigar for only the second time, before the ash would have fallen of by itself. A second touch-up light was also applied at this time. I continued smoking the cigar for another 35 minutes, all the way down to 1¾ inches remaining when it finally went out by itself, making for a total smoke time of 120 minutes. The Big Payback 70s Maduro cigar was very well made and had a good draw, mostly even burn, and held a very long ash. The cigar was only ashed twice during the 120 minutes that it took me to smoke. No relights were required, and only two touch-ups needed during the two-hour smoking session. The Room101 Big Payback 70s Maduro is a very good cigar and a great value for only $8.99 per stick. The cigar's very large size could be its most obvious negative attribute,unlessyou have the time to smoke one cigar for two whole hours. Personally, I would rather smoke two different one-hour cigars back-to-back when I have a couple of hours to “burn”. The Room101 The Big Payback 70S had an average flavor profile throughout, with a core set of basic flavors. Some slight transitioning, but nothing very exciting and the strength was getting me at the end. This format is not something I'm going to come back to, but the price point is low and I got a smoking time of four hours and twenty five minutes from it, so if you like large ring gauge cigars and enjoy this flavor profile, then it's well worth it, it's just not for me.
