Now that spring is here, I tried to pick out a few favorites for the first golf outing of the season. An easy, instant selection is San Cristobal Revelation, a well-made blend that can stand toe to toe with any premium cigar on the market. The San Cristobal brand debuted as a Nicaraguan line distributed by Ashton back in 2007. After years of success, growth, and consumer praise, San Cristobal Revelation was introduced in 2013.

San Cristobal Revelation features a lovely milk chocolate-hued Ecuador Sumatra wrapper along with a rich, vibrant blend of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. Medium to full-bodied, these cigars offer a rich, earthy flavor-bouquet extenuated by decadent notes of leather, cedar, nuts and spice.

The original San Cristobal brand was launched in 2007. The Revelation came in 2013 and like all other San Cristobal lines is made at Don Pepín García’s My Father Cigars factory in Estelí. This soft-pressed toro is creamy and smooth while simultaneously bringing plenty of power to the party.

1st STANZA Well-built and performing, with a slight wobble to burn and thick-ish mascara-line. Tawari honey. Soft, pale nutmeg and white pepper-led piquancy of nigh exotic lilt. The San Cristobal Revelation Legend had a nice start, with a good combination of flavors and then dropped a level in each third as the profile lost it's vibrancy and then the char and wood bitterness joined in. I was hoping the chocolate fudge aroma from the wrapper pre-light was indicating a fair amount of chocolate in the profile, but it was very short lived. Overall, not a cigar I'd see myself coming back to.
