A box-pressed belicoso with a blunted tip. It’s a nutty, toasty smoke with some touches of black pepper and cocoa powder. A cedary note also comes through leading to a sweet finish of caramel and almond.

Warped Nicotina first hit shelves in January of this year, making it the first new Warped cigar of 2022. The name comes from a Cuban cigar brand dating back to 1880 and the blend is full-bodied to match. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The blend is a Nicaraguan puro that uses all Aganorsa Leaf tobacco. The blend uses a corojo 99 wrapper, criollo 98 binder, and corojo and criollo filler. It comes in just one size to start, a 5 1/2 x 52 box pressed belicoso. Each cigar has an MSRP recommended at $11.00 and comes in boxes of 25. The cigar is rolled at Aganorsa’s Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA) in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Smoking through the initial first third, I had a smile on my face. It tasted like the good old days of TABSA's Corojo. But unfortunately, the majority of the Warped Nicotina did not hold, being overall too mineral and cedar driven. At least this cigar was far better than Kyle's other recent releases. It's a big step in the right direction. But it needs to take another big step.
