The Arturo Fuente Flor Fina 8-5-8 Sun Grown is a part of the company’s Sun Grown extension of their Gran Reserva line. Recently we reviewed the more rare offshoot of this cigar the Flor Fina 8-5-8 Rosado Sun Grown. The Flor Fina 8-5-8 size is harder to find than the rest of the Sun Grown line, but not as hard to find as the Rosado. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Sun Grown wrapper, and dominican binder and fillers. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The Arturo Fuente Flor Fina 8-5-8 Sun Grown had a nice profile through the first tow thirds with the toasted cedar, baking spice and meatiness with a nice chewy smoke. The final third took a step back as the meatiness departed and some wood staleness and bitterness joined in. It's nice coming back to some of these long standing lines that deliver with a very approachable price point. I'd easily come back to this cigar in the future.
