Arturo Fuente Unnamed Reserve 2013 Toro
Cigar Coop · Feb 6, 2014
Arturo Fuente Unnamed Reserve 2013 Toro In 2012 Arturo Fuente launched the first Unnamed Reserve cigar. While it was not only a cigar that is “unnamed”, it was a cigar that had a cloud of mystery around it as there really isn’t much that was known about it – other than it was a 5 […]

The Bottom Line: For the most part, I have never been a fan of any of the Fuente cigars that use a Sun Grown wrapper, as I feel like the nuances of the blend can sometimes be overwhelmed by the overt flavors coming from that specific wrapper. I am happy to report that is not the case with the Unnamed Reserve. While you can taste it, the profile is extremely rich, creamy and tartly sweet throughout the smoke with the perfect amount of black pepper on the retrohale. In my opinion, it is not as good as the recently released—and quickly sold out— W. Curtis Draper 125th Anniversary , but it is close, and that is saying quite a bit.

The Arturo Fuente Unnamed Reserve is one of the more mysterious lines from Fuente. This is more of a collection of different blends as opposed to a line of cigars, with each year and release having a different size and blend. The original Unnamed Reserve came out in 2012, since then, there have been 6 other cigars in the collection, including the one we are reviewing today, Arturo Fuente Unnamed Reserve 2021. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The most recent iteration is the Unnamed Reserve 2021. The size is a 5 3/4 x 48 corona gorda which happens to be the same size as the first release. The blend uses a sun grown rosado wrapper, and Dominican tobacco for the binder and filler. Something special about this particular release was that the cigars were actually rolled in 2016, and can you see on the cellophane it says ProducXion 2016. Like all previous Unnamed Reserve, this is a limited production. Only 1,000 boxes of 20 were made. Each cigar has an MSRP of $10.93.
