At the end of my head cold, but too soon to provide a responsible palate result. I thought I’d remind you of a very good, reasonably priced cigar. I first published this review January 2020. …

A chunky long smoking Robusto which performs admirably on a quarter-tick of a wobble. Darkly sweet notes of cocoa and coffee beans lead a mesquite-led wood array with piquant bits of chili powder and cumin. All delivered quite smoothly with a plum attachment. Leathery oils cling richly to the palate.

Blind Man's Puff · Mar 6, 2020 · 2012
The roots of the Brick House go back to the original clear Havana blend launched by J.C. Newman made with Cuban tobacco before the Cuban embargo. The name comes from his childhood home which was the only house made out of bricks in their small, Hungarian village. People from all around with gather at that house to eat, drink, smoke and enjoy company, but the Great Depression brought that to an end. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. Fast-forward 80 years, and J.C. Newman ‘s grandsons Eric and Bobby Newman bring the brand back to life using Nicaraguan tobacco. The blend uses a Havana Subido™ wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The Brick House Maduro uses the same binder and filler but replaces with wrapper with Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper. The finished product is described as spicier than the original and full-bodied with sweetness.

Strong and earthy, this dark, attractive cigar also has a salt-and-pepper quality that becomes lighter and floral. The finish is bready with a hint of caramel.

Brick House Maduro Mighty Mighty. To me it’s a solid 9/10. I love maduros so there might be some biased there. It’s delicious, consistent, and affordable so you can’t go wrong!

Halfwheel · Apr 21, 2019 · October 2018
I've long maintained that the Brick House line is one of the best bang-for-you-buck cigars on the market, and I'd continue to make that claim after smoking three of the Brick House Maduro Short Torpedo. It's neither a perfect cigar, nor is it the most complex smoke you'll find out there. While a few portions of these samples got a bit rough on the front of the tongue, the majority of the cigar was very enjoyable with a balance between chocolate and earth, with a sprinkling of pepper to provide a bit of added flavor and physical sensation. While there aren't a lot of these out there—at least yet—there are plenty of the other sizes likely waiting to be enjoyed in a humidor near you.

Developing Palates · Oct 30, 2020 · 2012
The Brick House Mighty Mighty Maduro provided an above average smoking experience, with flavors that ranged from sweet bread to toasted earth. Construction was excellent, with some minor resistance to the draw. This cigar would appeal to smokers who really enjoy the darker and toasted flavors, and prefer larger ring gauge formats.
