Camacho Connecticut

It has been ages since I’ve had a Camacho Connecticut and I don’t recall ever having reviewed one, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to re-visit an older blend.

Mellow, with oomph. Now if only it still sported the circa 2013 label I much prefer to the 'new' re-branding. I still miss the cent sign. I still don't overly like the new bold radical band. Pairings : Not a thing is needed. Hence --Read full review on Kaplowitz
Camacho Distillery Edition Connecticut Toro
Blind Man's Puff · Mar 25, 2020 · July 2019
Camacho cigars have been experimenting with barrel-aging for longer than most companies. Their latest iteration comes in the form of the Camacho Distillery Edition. This new line has three blends, Corojo, Ecuador, and Connecticut. Each takes their respective regular production blends and barrel-ages the corojo in the filler for six months. All three blends come in the same size, a 6 x 50 toro, and are priced at $9.25. All were shown off at the 2019 IPCPR trade show. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The Connecticut version uses an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, Honduran Corojo binder, and Aleman Ligero from the Dominican Republic & Barrel-Aged Corojo from Honduras filler.

Initial tangy notes of lemon and cedar calm a bit, for a toasty, nutty smoke with hints of vanilla and anise. A well-made Churchill in a light wrapper.

Camacho Connecticut
Cigar Dojo · Sep 30, 2015
Satisfying 'til the end, I smoked both of my CC's to the nub! This cigar shows a different, yet needed side to Camacho's powerhouse lineup. Even the boldest smokers need a little variety in their selections and the CC opts to fill that void. With an affordable price, great construction, and pleasant, mild flavor profile, this is easily one of the best Connecticuts in its weight class.

Cigar Coop · Sep 20, 2017
The Camacho Connecticut BXP Toro is one of three blends under Camacho’s BXP line. BXP is a box-pressed line of three blends under the Camacho umbrella. While box-pressed cigars are common in the marketplace, David has only started offering them over the past couple of years. 2015 saw the AVO brand release its first regular production box-pressed […] Key flavors: Mineral, Toast, Cream, Wood, Citrus.

Developing Palates · Jun 15, 2020 · June 2019
The Camacho Distillery Edition Connecticut Toro is a superior blend to the original Camacho Connecticut. The tobacco that was aged in barrels brought more life to the cigar and added some complexity to the overall blend. I was pleasantly surprised by the blend and would definitely pick these up again in the future.
