Christian Eiroa started C.L.E. in 2012, four years after he and his family sold the Camacho brand to Davidoff. Eiroa recently revamped his flagship C.L.E. brand, paring down the cigar lines to be named after their wrappers. He also introduced a new line called C.L.E. Maduro, which debuted in late spring of 2025. It retains the same core blend as the other flagship cigars, with Honduran binder and filler tobaccos from Colombia and Honduras. But unlike its counterparts, it’s finished with a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper. The 50x5 is a full-bodied smoke with a spicy core of red pepper, cinnamon and ginger that’s supplemented by hints of leather and hearty wood.
