Covered in a near-black, matte wrapper, each puff of this cigar is loaded with cocoa bean and meaty flavors, though lighter notes of toffee show on the finish.

As mentioned in the notes, cigars like this are why I'm glad we smoke multiples of for each review, even though the result might not be great for those hoping to see a high score. The first Curivari Gran Reserva Edición 2025 654 that I smoked set the bar pretty high, and ended up being the highest scoring of the three. The flavor offered the kind of balance, complexity and restraint that I find so appealing, even though it didn't give off the suggestion that the tobacco was aged beyond what would be considered normal. The other two followed much the same steps of the first, but just never quite nailed the same kind of execution. None of them scored poorly by any means—I'd gladly put more of any one of them in my humidor—but that first one was the special one. I would have loved for all to perform like the first as I'd give these not just a recommendation, but a directive to go get some as soon as possible. That said, I still like them, and if you can find some in the wild, you should be pretty satisfied, if not impressed.
