Florida Sun Grown 20 Acre Farm

Cigar Snob · Jan 4, 2023

Cleverly unveiled during one of Drew Estate’s Freestyle Live streaming events in late 2021, the Florida Sun Grown 20 Acre Farm quickly made a lasting impression on smokers everywhere, including our panel. The cigar features tobacco grown on Jeff Borysiewicz’s farm in Clermont, Florida, the first cigar tobacco farm in the area since the 1970s.

20 Acre Farm Robusto

Halfwheel · Feb 16, 2022 · December 2021

Because I was interested in the cigars that were sent out, I tried one of the prerelease versions of this cigar—that incidentally, were shipped sans cedar wrap—which I found to be fairly standard and uninspired when it comes to flavors. Thankfully, the actual banded versions were quite different: the profile is sweet and creamy, complex and balanced, with a wonderful combination of cashews, cedar and toasted bread on the palate along with both graham cracker and honey sweetness interspersed with white pepper on the retrohale. Throw in overall good construction and copious smoke production that never lets up, and I am left with one of the better Connecticut-wrapped blends I have smoked in quite a while.

Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm Toro

Blind Man's Puff · Apr 1, 2022 · December 2021

Last November, during one of their their Freestyle Live broadcasts on Facebook, Drew Estate announced a new cigar: 20 Acre Farm. The fun part of this new release is that it was the mystery cigar sold as a part of their second Freestyle Live pack that allowed people to smoke it before finding out what it was live on the show. The previous cigar revealed this way was the Undercrown 10. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The blend for 20 Acre Farm starts with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade Grown wrapper, then a Sun Grown Habano binder, and finishes with fillers from Estelí and Jalapa, Nicaragua as well as a Florida Sun Grown leaf, grown by Jeff Borysiewicz on a 20-acre plot of land near the Central Florida town of Clermont, hence the name of the cigar. Borysiewicz started Corona Cigar Co. in 1996 and started the process of growing tobacco on his small farm in 2013 with the hopes of bringing back The Sunshine State’s history of cigar tobacco growing, which previously ended in 1977. Florida Sun Grown tobacco has been used by Drew Estate before in their FSG line released in 2017. 20 Acre Farm comes in boxes of 20 and in three sizes: Toro (6 x 52) $13.40/cigar $268/box, Robusto (5 ¼ x 54) $12.40/cigar $248/box, and Gordito (6 x 60) $15.40/cigar $308/box.

20 Acre Farm Toro by Drew Estate

Cigar Coop · Oct 1, 2022

Late in 2021, Drew Estate unveiled an all-new line in its portfolio called 20 Acre Farm. The 20 Acre Farm gets its name from the 20-acre plot of land in Clermont, Florida where Jeff Borysiewicz grows Florida Sun Grown (FSG) tobacco. Borysiewicz is best known as the founder of Corona Cigar Company. In 2013 […] Key flavors: Cedar, Earth, Bing Cherry, Cream, Chocolate, Pepper.

Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm

CigarCzars · Sep 23, 2024

Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm cigars feature filler tobaccos grown in Florida by cigar retailer Jeff Borysiewicz, who founded the Corona Cigar Co. and now has several cigar stores located in and around Orlando and Central Florida. The cigar is made in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, Honduran Sun Grown Habano binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua blended with the featured Florida Sun Grown leaf from Jeff's 20-acre farm located in Clermont, Florida. The cigars were introduced inNovember 2021, and became available duringDecember 2021in three sizes including a Toro (6 x 52), a Gordito (6 x 60), and a Robusto (5.25 x 54). The Robusto is the subject of this review, and is priced at $13.95 per single cigar (as of September 2024) atCorona Cigar. In February 2022, a fourth20 Acre Farm Belicosovitola was announced and debuted the following month, exclusive to Corona Cigar Co. However, the original three sizes can also be found at other cigar retailers. For additional info about these cigars, check outDrewEstate.com. For more information about cigar tobacco grown in Florida, please visitFlorida Sun Grown. The sample Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm Robusto cigar started off with a very pleasant and modestly sweet tobacco flavor joined by a nice nutty taste. Within the first five minutes, a woodsy flavor joined the mix along with subtle hints of a very light pepper, while the smoke moved up from mild-to-medium to more medium bodied. After another 10 minutes, the flavor became more woodsy along with some creamy notes as the sweet and nutty tastes began to fade. By the 25-minute mark, the flavor was predominately wood, and then stayed pretty much consistent until the end of the smoking session. The 20 Acre Farm Robusto was very well made and had a good draw, even burn, and held a long ash. No relights nor touch-ups were needed during the 45 minutes that it took me to smoke the cigar down to two inches remaining. The Florida filler tobacco in the bunch added just a little bit extra oomph to the overall flavor of the 20 Acre Farm cigar, which was also blended with more traditional fillers. The end result was not a drastic departure from the taste that most cigar smokers have become accustomed, which is certainly not a bad thing. Although this medium bodied cigar would be appropriate for all levels of cigar smokers, newer smokers might also enjoyCorona's 10-year Anniversary Cigarfor about half the price. I recommend the 20 Acre Farm cigar to more seasoned cigar smokers, who should appreciate the flavor nuances in a boutique cigar more than newer cigar smokers. The bottom line, I'm rating the Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm cigar with a very good 4 points on a 5-point scale.

Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm Toro

Developing Palates · Jun 8, 2022 · December 2021

Elegant and at the same time punchy. The Drew Estate 20 Acre Farm Toro has all the traditional (good) sides of Connecticut Shade as you would want (bread, hay, cedar). But unlike most, this one has a nice consistent dry red pepper spice backing that interplays quite well with the softer notes. I'd call this a winner.

This cigar’s lush cedar and oaky aromas blend well with the pepper spiciness, nut and coffee tones, and the subtle spice. Pastry scents and fruity notes can be detected.
