I had completely forgotten about the Cabinetta. I smoked them when they first came out and hadn't really touched them since, which is a shame. The Cabinetta Lancero is definitely going to benefit from a bit of rest, and likely a bit of proper age as well, but these are good to go now. A great change of pace for those that love the heavy Nicaraguan profile, but more so a good cigar. I will go out on a limb here and say that at some points, the Cabinetta No.13 is more "Liga" than either of the Liga Privada Lanceros I've smoked. To me, both of them missed the core Liga flavor (cedar, spice and cocoa), which the Cabinetta has. Don't get me wrong, the depth levels between this and a Liga Privada aren't comparable, but at times there are some similarities going on here. One of the secrets in the Lancero market and one that has already snuck itself into my smoking rotation.

This torpedo is tipped with a dark wrapper, the rest is wrapped in a light leaf. The draw is a bit firm but the burn is even, and it is a simple, easy going smoke with creamy vanilla notes and a toasty finish.

We review the Joya Cabinetta Lancero. Thisis a cigar that features two wrappers, segmented on the upper and lower portions of the cigar. Key flavors: Coffee, Orange Rind, Cedar, Wood, Cream.

Milky/buttery and bissell white pepper zetz, up-top. A nutty coffee leathery goop melange creates the middling. Under-belly's sweet dirt 'baccy. Sugary citrus hither and thither. Sweetness rises ahead of spice whenst the Criollo is reached. Well-rounded, though haphazardly complex. Nice draw with goodly resistance. Burns jaggedly at times, self-corrects.

The Joya de Nicaragua Joya Cabinetta Lancero has somewhat of a cheat code. In fact, all the Cabinetta’s have this strength. Finishing the cigar with that Nicaraguan Criollo really lights a spark plug in terms of flavors and strength after the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper portion. The Connecticut portion is solid, with a nice bit of depth and strength, but when you put that darker and stronger wrapper on the cigar it sends it in a whole new direction, and it captures your attention in a good way.
