Kristoff Vengeance Toro

Blind Man's Puff · Jun 15, 2020 · July 2018

Vengeance is one of the Kristoff brand’s oldest lines. The original blend was re-branded from Vengeance to GC Signature Series back in 2011, then in 2018 Glen Case announced at TAA that the Vengeance line would be making a return, with a slightly different blend. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The blend for Vengeance uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Indonesian binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. The original blend (now GC Signature Series) featured a Brazilian maduro wrapper and had some Honduran tobacco in the filler. It comes in four sizes: Perfecto – 6.5 x 60, 6 x 60, Toro – 6.25 x 54, and Robusto – 5 x 50. All comes in boxes of 20 are and made at the Charles Fairmorn factory in the Dominican Republic.

Kristoff Vengeance in Review "A Swashbuckler, This One. Swarthy"

Kaplowitz · Jun 23, 2020

Black peppercorn | Baking spice | Wood A profile that is steered by wood, therefore perceived as delivered rigidly, kindly-so. There is a constant cream, toasted & thick, though not the latter enough to stave off some gruffness. That wood is a charred wine cask oakiness & seasoned salty cedar, scorched. Baking spice is high-up near the front yet a bit dusty and non-descript; a bit disappointing since the rest of the blend is quite delineated and focused. Black pepper is a front-loaded thing, see

Agile Cigar Reviews are cigar assessments where we use a lightweight, shorter format. These will never take the place of our comprehensive reviews. They are only used on blends we have previously assessed. This might be a blend we are re-scoring or giving a score for the first time. It might be a blend we […] Key flavors: Coffee, Mocha, Pepper, Raw Honey, Lemon.

Kristoff Vengeance

Holt's Staff Reviews · Apr 7, 2022

Spring is here, and I’m smoking Kristoff Vengeance in a 5 by 50 Robusto, a fitting cigar to puff on while I’m manning the barbecue – my absolute favorite pastime. Kristoff cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic at the Charles Fairmorn factory, which was operated by Rolando Villamil until his passing in January of 2022. Brand owner Glen Case launched Kristoff in 2004, and the cigars are crafted to the meticulous standards Villamil established over many decades as a premium cigarmaker.

Kristoff Vengeance

CigarCzars · Jan 6, 2020

Original Kristoff Vengeance cigars were renamed a few years ago, and the Vengeance name was retired. In 2018, Vengeance cigars returned with a new blend. These cigars are now made with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Indonesian binder, and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. Kristoff Vengeance cigars are available in several sizes, including a Toro (6.25 x 54) that was sampled for this short review. The cigars have a pigtail cap and an unfinished foot, and are priced at $46 for a 5-pack. The sample cigar began with a medium-to-full bodied earthy and expresso flavor, along with hints of spice and a very subtle sweetness. After about 20 minutes or so, the cigar moved closer to the full bodied range, but without a lot of change to the initial flavors. The taste was very enjoyable from start to finish, and the cigar had a good draw, even burn and held a long ash. No relights nor touch-ups were needed during the 75 to 80 minutes that it took me to smoke the cigar down to two inches remaining. I rate the Kristoff Vengeance Toro cigar with a very solid 4 points on a 5-point scale. Although it is a fuller bodied cigar, the sample was not overpowering and should be enjoyable for most mainstream cigar smokers as well as connoisseurs. Not recommended for beginners nor newer cigar smokers.

Kristoff Vengeance Toro

Developing Palates · Apr 1, 2019 · July 2018

The Kristoff Vengeance Toro had a good start but became pedestrian from the second third on. I'd like to try this in a smaller ring gauge to see what that would do to the profile. The good first third isn't enough to keep me coming back to this cigar and it probably isn't something I'd be in a hurry to revisit.
