La Flor Dominicana Cigars LFD Capitulo II (Chapter Two)
The powerful second installment in Antonio Gomez's Chisel-shaped chronicle, Capitulo II is handcrafted at Tabacalera La Flor in the Dominican Republic. Dressed in a reddish Ecuadorian Colorado wrapper protecting estate-grown Dominican binder and long-fillers from La Canela, it yields a commanding full-bodied smoke overflowing with aromatic cedar, rich leather, damp earth, dark cocoa, and cracked black pepper.

With its wedge-shaped head, this thick, box-pressed cigar resembles a railroad spike. It's a strong smoke full of saffron, rock salt and earth with hints of sweetness.

La Flor Dominicana Capitulo II
Halfwheel · Sep 12, 2014 · September 2014
While I appreciate most of La Flor Dominicana's releases— and like some of them quite a bit —the Capitulo II just did not hit the mark for me. While an enjoyable cigar, the blend had very few changes during its two hour smoking time. If you are looking for an overtly earthy, large ring gauge cigar in the medium range, this would be a great cigar to try, but I will stick to the Chapter One, which is a much more complete blend.
