Espresso | Hickory | Leather A quite solidly built and performing cigar. Darkly-toasted crisply-bold notes of, espresso, hickory, leather, and chicory. Quite consistent. A kindly-strong black-peppered bittersweet palate and nose.

La Gloria Cubana cigars have a rich history, and have been rolled in many countries. Created in Cuba in 1885, La Glorias were one of Havana's more obscure brands. A Miami version became the hottest brand in America during the early days of the cigar boom. Production was shifted to the Dominican Republic to meet demand. Last year, brand owner General Cigar Co. launched the first ever Nicaraguan La Gloria Cubana cigars. One was designed only for Internet and catalog retailers, while the Serie R Esteli was made exclusively for brick-and-mortar cigar shops. It's one of the best La Glorias in years, with a core of leather and coffee notes complemented by a nutty and floral character.

La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli despite the burn issues I had it was a great smoke overall. I thought the flavor complexities really brought something new and exciting to the table. The packaging is beautiful and for the most part it was a great smoking experience. I’ve already given a couple of these cigars away to friends who love this kind of cigar. For me, that’s one of the highest compliments I can give to a cigar is who I give it away to. So if you see these around your local B&M’s give it a shot. I doubt you’ll be disappointed!
