From a flavor perspective, STG should be very happy with what Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. cooked up for Forged. Quite frankly, it’s one of the most compelling new cigars I’ve smoked from the factory during the last few years. This is a cigar that has a few different marketable flavor profiles: bourbon, rice cakes, nuttiness, paired with above-average construction. More than anything, I didn’t have to go searching for the flavors. They presented themselves very easily and rarely got close to becoming overwhelming. If there’s any sort of criticism to be had, it’s that the three cigars weren’t able to mirror one another for most of the experience. With that said, I’d be quite happy to smoke any one of these cigars again.

La Gloria Cubana Los Gloriosos cigars are made at the Casa Carrillo Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic, and were blended by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan Jalapa binder, and a blend of premium filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. These cigars became available during April 2025 in three sizes, including a Toro (6 x 50) priced at $8.99 per stick that is the subject of this review. For more information about these cigars, please see thepress release. The sample La Gloria Cubana Los Gloriosos Toro cigar began with a combination of rich and bold flavors, with earth, leather and spice being the most noticeable. The smoke had a smooth and creamy texture for being a fuller bodied cigar, and was not overpowering. The flavors were complex and balanced, and remained pretty consistent during the first 15 minutes when I ashed the cigar for the first time. At this point, leather started to become the predominate flavor, with earth and spice playing more of a supporting role. After another 20 minutes, I ashed the cigar for the second time, and the flavors were starting to become just a little less bold by this point, with the smoke being near the upper end of the medium-to-full bodied range. At the 50-minute mark, I ashed the cigar for the third and final time. The flavors remained consistent and the cigar lasted for another 20 minutes, making for a total smoke time of 70 minutes down to 1½ inches remaining. The LGC Los Gloriosis Toro was very enjoyable from start to finish, and did not require any relights nor touch-ups. This was one of the most even-burning LGC cigars that I have ever smoked. It was was very well-made and had a great draw and held a long ash. La Gloria Cubana Los Gloriosos cigars are recommended for seasoned connoisseurs, but some advanced mainstream cigar smokers might enjoy them, too. I rate it with a superior 4.25 points on a 5-point scale. La Gloria Cubana cigars are distributed by the Forged Cigar Company, which is part of STG (Scandinavian Tobacco Group) as is General Cigar, which previously distributed the brand.
