La Gloria Cubana Serie S Robusto Gordo

Blind Man's Puff · May 3, 2023 · August 2022

La Gloria Cubana released a new, regular production cigar around the middle of last year: La Gloria Cubana Serie S. The blend uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper (a first for the brand), Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan & Dominican fillers. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. La Gloria Cubana Serie S is rolled at the El Credito Cigar Factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic and comes in three sizes: Robusto Gordo 5.5” x 56 MSRP $7.99, Gigante 6 “ x 60 MSRP $8.49, and Presidente 7” x 56 MSRP $8.99. The cigars are presented in black cabinet-style boxes that each contain 24 cigars. La Gloria Cubana is distributed by Forged Cigar Company.

La Gloria Cubana Serie S Robusto Gordo

Cigar Aficionado · Apr 1, 2024

Though a bit rumpled and wrinkled, this dark cigar draws and burns evenly, offering an earthy, cedary smoke with notes of dark fruit, cocoa powder and black pepper.

La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro

Kaplowitz · Sep 6, 2023

Coffee | Molasses | Leather An almost sultry smoke that can't quite-entirely fill out its negligee. But it is smooth and ultimately enjoyable. Mature sweetness of a dark-fruity ilk. That's backed by blackstrap molasses. A bit of black pepper peeks out from there. Quite leathery, quite thinly in a patent fashion. Coffee beans, oily-so. A somewhat waxy dark chocolate with vanilla bean attachment. Nicely nuanced not very deeply. Consistent. A sprig of mnt happens a couple of times. Not weighty nor

La Gloria Cubana Serie S Robusto Gordo

Cigar Coop · Aug 6, 2023

There is quite a long history of the La Gloria Cubana brand. Folks who know me know I have an affinity for classic heritage brands, but in general, La Gloria Cubana always captures my interest. For starters, the non-Cuban version of this brand had roots in Little Havana, where it was a part of Ernesto […] Key flavors: Coffee, Baker’s Spice, Earth, Wood, Sour Candy, Mixed Pepper, Cedar,.

La Gloria Cubana Serie SMaduro Robusto Gordo

CigarCzars · Oct 30, 2023

Like the originalLa Gloria Cubana Serie S Cigar, the Maduro version is made in the Dominican Republic with a Nicaraguan binder and a blend of filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. Both are made with Mexican wrappers, but the Maduro version uses a deeply fermented San Andreas Negro wrapper leaf. LGC Serie S Maduro cigars debuted during July 2023 in three sizes, including the Robusto Gordo (5.5 x 56) priced at $7.99 per cigar, which is the subject of this review. For more information about these cigars, please check out thepress release. The sample La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto (Negro) Maduro cigar started off with an enjoyable naturally sweet earthy flavor along with a hint of spice. After about 20 minutes, a leather taste also joined the mix. The body was medium-to-full. The cigar's flavor was pretty consistent beyond this point, and was very enjoyable for the entire duration of the smoking session, from start to finish. I enjoyed this Maduro version more than the original LGC Serie S. It took me 90 minutes to smoke the LGC Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo down to two inches remaining. During that time, the cigar had a good draw, held a medium-to-long ash, and had a slow burn that was slightly uneven at times. A couple of touch-up lights were applied at the 30 and 70-minute marks to keep the burn line from getting too uneven. In addition, one relight was required at the 50-minute point when the cigar went out. In general, after many years of enjoying a variety of different La Gloria Cubana cigars, I have come to expect a very good tasting cigar that might require at least a couple of touch-ups. I found the sample La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo to be a superior cigar worthy of a superior rating of 4.25 points on a 5-point scale. I enjoyed the entire cigar despite a few relatively minor burn issues, which were no big surprise. At a price of only $7.99, I can easily recommend this cigar, especially to seasoned cigar smokers. However, mainstream smokers should try them too, but they're not the best choice for beginners.

Serie S Maduro flows pretty dang smoothly. It leads with woody chocolate and follows with earth, a touch of salty sweetness, and smooth coffee. Smoke output is spot on. Not trying to fill the room, not skimping either.Earth takes up most of the retrohale. Woody chocolate and a few drops of coffee fl

La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo

Developing Palates · Apr 12, 2024 · July 2023

The La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo had a promising start in the first third, with interesting flavor combinations that kept me engaged. As the cigar continued, each third seemed to step down in balance and flavor combinations leading to a disappointing last third. I'm glad I had the opportunity to review the La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo, but based on the flavor delivery, this isn't something I"d return to.
