Liga Privada Cigars Único Serie Ratzilla
Luxury Benchmark: Explore $7–$12 Everyday Flavor TwinsAn elongated 6 x 46 evolution of the celebrated Dirty Rat blend, Ratzilla is handcrafted in strictly limited batches at Gran Fabrica Drew Estate. Wrapped in a toothy Connecticut Broadleaf Oscuro over Brazilian Mata Fina, its extra length softens the five-ligero blend into a rich, full-bodied smoke loaded with dark cocoa, charred meat, espresso, and spice.

Liga Privada Unico Serie Ratzilla Drew Estate’s Liga Privada Unico Serie Ratzilla has been long awaited by fans of Liga Privada. In 2010, Liga Privada released its first in its Unico Serie called the “Dirty Rat”. For those who are not familiar with the Unico Serie concept with Liga Privada – it is one blend, […]

Last year Drew Estate Released the Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla As DDRP Exclusive. The Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla was launched as a limited release to retailers participating in Drew Estate ‘s Drew Diplomat Retailer Program. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The Ratzilla is one of the most sought-after blends in the Liga Privada Único Serie line and has only seen a handful of retail releases to date. The Ratzilla, presented in a 6 ¼ x 46 parejo vitola, is a favorite among collectors and this last launch marked the largest release to date. From the Dominican Republic, Jonathan Drew stated, “There are many blends of diverse tobaccos that have been created throughout the years, which have never been sold nationally. Ratzilla, Velvet Rat, Piglets, Black Rat, Royale with Cheese, are just a few examples of hundreds that we have on file – to be used when the time is right, or to be left as relics of the past. The think tank energy at Drew Estate continues to evolve like killer bees around the hive.” The Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla, produced at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua, features a Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut & Cured Sun Grown Habano Wrapper, a Plantation Grown Brazilian Mata Fina Binder, and Nicaraguan and Honduran Fillers. The new batch of Ratzillas is available in 10-count boxes, emblazoned with the Único Serie branding. The MSRP for the 10-count boxes is $154.50, and the first shipments arrived August of 2015.

Halfwheel · Jun 23, 2012 · June 22, 2012
The Ratzilla is said to be just a slightly larger and longer version of the Dirty Rat, and while the blend may be the same, honestly, that is just not really how it tasted to me. While there are definitely similarities, especially in the earthiness that is present, the Ratzilla is fuller, creamier and a tad bit sweeter profile wise while the Dirty Rat has quite a bit more spice, just short of harsh, on the lips and tongue. I enjoyed the Ratzilla immensely, but do not smoke this thinking that it is going to be nothing more than a larger Dirty Rat, as it has a profile all its own. Having said that, if you see them, and you love the Liga Privada profile, you should buy every single one you can get your hands on.

To me, it was a dry, oaky spice bomb to begin with, getting more complex and smooth as it went on.

A tightly rolled corona with a flag tip head and oily, near-black wrapper. Incense notes come on heavy and strong before taking on earth flavor and a touch of sweetness. A powerful little smoke that could use more balance.
