Velvet Rat makes you think Liga Privada, but it really makes you rethink Undercrown. Undercrown, for better or worse, is oftentimes marketed and sold as Liga Privada light, it's not. I like the Undercrown profile, but this is the cigar you want if you are getting a lighter Liga Privada, there's simply no question. In my humble opinion, Velvet Rat isn't just the best Liga Privada since Dirty Rat, it's hands down the best Liga Privada outside of Dirty Rat. Even at $14 a piece, its release can't come soon enough.

Overall, the Drew Estate Liga Privada Único Serie Velvet Rat started nicely, but became average by the second third as the flavor profile was pretty basic. This cigar doesn't have the vibrance it once did, which is understandable due to its age. If you have some of these, smoke them, as time isn't going to make them any better.
