I’m smoking My Father Connecticut in a 5.25-by-52 Robusto today. My Father cigars are known for their strength, but the Connecticut is different because it’s deceptively strong. It’s rolled with an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, which many cigar lovers expect will be milder, but make no mistake My Father Connecticut is a hearty Nicaraguan smoke. I’ve been smoking My Father cigars for more than a decade.

The tangy, oaky white wine notes of this tannish robusto match the sweeter notes of graham cracker and pecan for an interesting sweet-and-sour effect. Mild touches of almonds and cinnamon also come through. A fine smoke for fans of lighter cigars.

It gave something unique to a Connecticut wrapper. I haven’t picked up on those flavors before from a CT wrapper and I feel like it brought something new to the table. So I was thoroughly impressed by what it had to offer. I would easily smoke this again and again. If you see them on the shelf do yourself a favor and pick one. I think it’s a great smoke from a legendary cigar family.
