Cigar Snob · Jan 6, 2023
My Father Cigars maintain an exceptional level of quality across its blends year in and year out as well as anybody in the cigar business. You could chalk that up to a number of reasons, not the least of which is Don Pepín and Jaime García’s knowledge and skill in working these tobaccos. But you could argue that without a reliable supply of top shelf raw material, no amount of knowledge or skill could achieve this consistent level of excellence. The importance of their growing operation cannot

La Antiguedad by My Father Cigars – Toro La Antiguedad is a new line by My Father Cigars that has been launched in 2014. From its initial appearance, its banding evokes memories of another line by My Father Cigars, the Flor de las Antillas. La Antiguedad is a completely different line; but with the banding […]

Today I’m firing up an overlooked blend from My Father Cigars, called La Antiguedad, and I’m smoking a box-pressed 5.25-by-52 Robusto. This full-bodied Nicaraguan smoke came out in 2014 as a stronger follow-up to the Garcia family’s first ‘Cigar of the Year’ titleholder, the 96-rated Flor de las Antillas. La Antiguedad is Spanish for “The Antiquity.” A decade later, the My Father brand includes three total ‘Cigars of the Year’ with the 97-rated Le Bijou 1922, in 2015, and The Judge, Cigar Aficionado’s 98-rated reigning blend for 2024.Read full review on Holt's Staff Reviews

Be sure to eat your Wheaties before smoking the La Antiguedad, because it is a long, luxurious smoke and you will need your stamina. I must mention, I did smoke the bigger 6" x 60 and was not as impressed. I believe the wrapper plays a lot to the flavors in this cigar. I highly recommend smoking the robusto size first to experience this cigar's optimum performance before experimenting with other vitolas.Read full review on Cigar Dojo
