When it comes to strong cigars fit for a lumberjack, I never steer away. Cain F is a cigar that I reach for often when I am looking for that powerhouse smoke. Today, I am smoking my favorite size in the line, the Cain F 550. All Cain cigars are handmade by Oliva Cigar Company in Estelí, Nicaragua. Oliva first developed Cain back in 2009 as an all-Ligero blend. Currently there are four distinct blends under the Cain portfolio: Daytona, Habano, Maduro, and F. Cain F is widely known as the strongest of the bunch.

The Cain F Lancero was originally announced in 2011 and released as an event-only cigar. In 2012, it was included as part of the first STUDIO TOBAC Limited Edition sampler before being released in 10-count boxes to multiple retailers across the country. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. Due to it’s acclaim, a lancero vitola and excellent construction all in a tubo priced originally at six dollars, Oliva decided to make the Cain F Lancero a semi-regular release. The cigar has been released in various limited batches over the course of the last few years, thought to be discontinued again, and the again resurfacing again without tubos at Atlantic Cigar most recently. The Oliva Company describes the Cain F lines as follows: “FORCED REFINED. Solid in every category however the wrapper is very delicate and tends to crack.
