Oscar Valladares Ciserón Edition
Cigar Dojo · Mar 20, 2019
I wouldn’t say that I am a jaded person, but it takes a really special cigar to shock me. The Oscar Valladares Ciserón Edition is one such cigar, exciting me from the first puff. This is a cigar that honors its makers and feels more like a piece of art than a bundle of tobacco. It could be sold for two or even three times its modest price point ($9.50) and I believe it would still be worth a purchase. However, inconsistencies between smoking samples proved that such fantastically full flavors are not always firing on all cylinders; the unique profile remains consistent, but there are times when Ciserón Edition becomes more subdued and monotonous. In either case, the cigar easily outperforms its curiously low price point.

First and foremost, I'm impressed to find that the Oscar Valladares Ciseron Edition has so much life and vibrance to it after more than five years of resting in my humidor. Outside of what my original review suggested about the cigar, I can't say I had a vivid image of what the cigar was like when new, so it was interesting to see just what the blend would offer. The first third is stellar, especially for a morning cigar when my palate seems most receptive to a milder profile that still has some flavor to it. After establishing itself quite well, the profile goes through a number of changes, and as noted above, finishes at a point that is quite different from where it began. I'd gladly swap out the changes for more of the first third, as that is where the blend shines brightest on my palate. All that said, the cigar is still quite enjoyable from start to finish, and when combined with the work of a noted artist, makes for a very likable project that is certainly worth smoking.

The Oscar Valladares Ciseron Edition is a cigar that is produced in Honduras, by Oscar Valladares. It presents two bands, one in a “normal” size, which is initially covered by a second and larger band, which covers most of the cigar. The wrapper is of a Colorado shade, that is slightly rough to […]

This cigar is perfectly rolled, has a fantastic burn and forms a solid ash. The woody, nutty and coffee aromas are underscored by a honey sweetness, fruity notes, and herbs. At the end, the creamy smoke also develops notes of chili.
