Punch After Dinner

Occasionally, a cigar's quality defies its price tag. This was particularly true for the Punch After Dinner, a full-sized Churchill that retails for less than $6 yet delivers a performance easily worth twice as much. It's a true multinational blend with a wrapper from Ecuador, a U.S. binder and filler from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. In lesser hands, such a blend might end up muddy and nondescript, but the tobaccos here come together quite cohesively, each leaf playing off the next for a dense, chewy smoke that's earthy and sweet. Like all cigars from the core Punch line, it's made in Honduras by General Cigar. This is a smoke that has been on the market for 20 years, though given its suggested retail price, it seems immune to inflation.

dk. Chocolate | Spice | Toffee Chocolate-y, sophisticatedly-so. Dk.chocolate toffee & then-again in spiced mocha. Savory leather/beef; then again spicy: cumin, cinnamon, red/black pepper, chili-seasonings. Weighty-toasted cream. Cyclical, solid-complete.

Whenever I hear about a cigar that is blended to have two or more profiles in the same cigar, I immediately have two separate but equally important questions: first, is there a clear transition between the different profiles, and second, do those transitions make the cigar better or worse? When it comes to the Mr. Punch's Weiners, the answers to those questions are yes and absolutely, respectively. The profile starts out with fairly standard flavors of earth and oak, but right around the halfway point, everything changes, as flavors of coffee beans and sourdough bread take over, along with a very interesting barbecue sweetness on the retrohale. Give me a full cigar that tastes like the second half of this cigar, and I would be a happy camper, but even with the less-interesting profile in the first half, the Punch Mr. Punch's Weiners is a great addition to a series made up of memorable releases.

Punch Aniversario Double Corona

Overall, the Punch Aniversario Double Corona was pretty average with a fairly basic flavor profile. The price point is a bit high, but if you enjoy the flavor profile, you get a lengthy smoking experience, so there may be some value there. For me, it was a bit too boring and I don't see coming back to the cigar.

Mr. Punch by Punch Cigars are made in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and a blend of Nicaraguan fillers and binder. These cigars became available in July2026 in three sizes including a Toro (6 x 54) priced at $7.89 per cigar, which is the subject of this review. The cigar is named after the brand's mascot, Mr. Punch. Scroll down for more information about these cigars in thepress release. The sample Mr. Punch Toro cigar started off with a full earthy and naturally sweet tobacco flavor. After just a couple of puffs, hints of spice joined in. Within about 10 minutes, the taste of bread began to emerge. After another 10 minutes, the full earthy flavor tamed down a bit and became nicely balanced with the bread, with earth still being predominate. By the 45-minute mark, the flavors of earth and bread were evenly balanced, and were accompanied by lingering hints of spice and sweetness. The smoke was also noticeably smoother by this point, These same flavors then continued for the remainder of the smoking session, with the earthy taste gradually fading until the end. The Punch Mr. Punch cigar was very well made and had a great draw, mostly even burn and held a long ash. I ashed the cigar three times during the 85 minutes that it took me to smoke down to 1½ inches remaining. Although no touch-ups nor relights were needed, I did apply one preemptive booster light at the 60-minute mark to keep the cigar burning adequately before it would have gone out. Punch Mr. Punch Toro is a very good cigar with a taste that came very close to being superior during the middle third when the flavors of earth and bread became nicely balanced, and were also complimented by tastes of natural tobacco sweetness and hints of spice. Overall, this cigar was a bit better than very good and worthy of a 4-plus rating on a 5-point scale, making it a very good deal for seasoned cigar smokers at a price of $7.89 per stick. This cigar might be a bit too full for newbies, especially at the beginning (but it does smooth out later). THE PUNCH-EST CIGAR EVER:MR.
