dk. Chocolate | Spice | Toffee Chocolate-y, sophisticatedly-so. Dk.chocolate toffee & then-again in spiced mocha. Savory leather/beef; then again spicy: cumin, cinnamon, red/black pepper, chili-seasonings. Weighty-toasted cream. Cyclical, solid-complete.

Coffee, cocoa and wood are the central qualities of this dark cigar, which benefits from the bursts of spice and anise before the leathery finish. The burn remains even and the draw is open and lush.

Whenever I hear about a cigar that is blended to have two or more profiles in the same cigar, I immediately have two separate but equally important questions: first, is there a clear transition between the different profiles, and second, do those transitions make the cigar better or worse? When it comes to the Mr. Punch's Weiners, the answers to those questions are yes and absolutely, respectively. The profile starts out with fairly standard flavors of earth and oak, but right around the halfway point, everything changes, as flavors of coffee beans and sourdough bread take over, along with a very interesting barbecue sweetness on the retrohale. Give me a full cigar that tastes like the second half of this cigar, and I would be a happy camper, but even with the less-interesting profile in the first half, the Punch Mr. Punch's Weiners is a great addition to a series made up of memorable releases.
