Viaje Skull and Bones Tsar Bomba Camo Blue

I have to give the Viaje credit for the Skull and Bones Tsar Bomba Camo Blue, as it would seemingly be easy to build off the name and just pack this cigar with ligero and create an obnoxiously strong cigar. Yet that is not what this is. Rather, the cigar has impressive balance and refinement, flexing some strength in the first two thirds but giving flavor as much attention—if not more—than how much strength it is delivering. The final third is where the cigar really steps out with some ligero strength packing a punch, and as noted extensively in the review, making my eyes itch and water to the point where I made a note to bring up why this happens with some tobacco people that I respect. But other than that, the Viaje Skull and Bones Tsar Bomba Camo Blue delivers a very enjoyable and flavorful experience, with generally solid combustion making it easy to get through this beefy cigar. While those who are really sensitive to nicotine strength might want to skip this one, those willing to light this up should be in for a solid smoke.

Viaje Skull and Bones The Hulk

In 2017, Viaje released a new cigar in its Skull and Bones line exclusive to R. Field Wine Co. in Hawaii called The Hulk. It uses the same band as regular Skull and Bones line except the skull is green instead of black, white, or red. It came in two sizes The Hulk 56 and The Hulk 58. Earlier this year, Viaje decided to release this cigar, “ The Hulk “, as well as “Bruce Banner” on a national level and shipped this starting in April. The names come from the Marvel Comic character scientist Bruce Banner who gets exposed to gamma radiation and turns into “ The Hulk ” when he gets angry. The character has also been featured in many movies including the latest renditions of The Avengers. The blend uses a Nicaraguan Criollo 98 wrapper, with Nicaraguan binder and fillers. It is rolled at the Raices Cubanas in Honduras. The Viaje Skull and Bones Bruce Banner measure 5 1/4 x 56 while The Hulk measure 5 1/4 x 60. When originally released in Hawaii both cigars were called The Hulk, but with different size names, 56 and 58. Now Bruce Banner has replaced the 56 size and the names are simply The Hulk and Bruce Banner. Both come in bundles of 25.

The Viaje Skull and Bones Daisy Cutter 2020 was overall a good experience. With a name like Skull and Bones Daisy Cutter you expect some flavor intensity and spice, and the cigar delivers that without being unbalanced. The profile falls right in my wheelhouse and I would smoke these again.
