For the first two thirds, the Aging Room La Bohème Poeta was a very impressive cigar, rich with flavors, moving gracefully through transitions, and keeping the senses thoroughly engaged and stimulated. The final third was where things got interesting, as the three cigars offered rather different experiences. One was quite harsh and as a result, hard to smoke, let alone enjoy. The second was better, and had me optimistic that there was more to be had in the final section. The third cigar completely scrambled my expectations, as it was not only the most flavorful and enjoyable of the bunch, but it delivered one of the best expressions of the blend that I had. Likewise, construction and combustion were very good in the first two thirds, while the final third was a bit all over the place, with two cigars needing relights and the third not even suggesting it could use some assistance from my lighter. If I could marry the first two thirds of either cigar with the final third of that third cigar, this would easily be described as a stellar smoke. However, that's not what happened, and I hate to think of the final third diminishing what this blend has to offer. I still recommend it, just cross your fingers that you get the final third that this cigar not only deserves but is capable of.

Earthen clay mineral tobacco core. Salted cream with a citrus-forward mulling spice accompaniment. Mild black pepper and dutch process cocoa. Ca-a-mel hints. Braced by a wood and bright dirt tandem. Top-leaf is delicate; draw hesitates in a spot or two. Smoothly textured with attainable complexities and some nice nuances. Well-balanced.

This Connecticut Broadleaf is a sleeper and should not be missed by anyone. It really has it all: chewy full flavors that make you want to take another draw as soon as you take one. The only thing I wish was it wasn't as pricey, as other Connecticut Broadleafs can be found for cheaper with similar experience. But even with that said, I would take these Aging Room La Bohéme Poeta all day every day.
