In my original review, the Black Works Studio Paper Crane Corona Gorda Box Press had two main issues: persistent construction problems and a final third profile that was noticeably lackluster compared to the first and second thirds. I was hopeful that some time in the humidor would result in a better experience for both aspects, but I ended up with a mixed bag. While the construction issues remain—I ended up correcting the burn line twice in each third—the flavors that were present in the final third were noticeably more lively and complex. More time probably won’t help the construction issues significantly, so I would smoke Black Works Studio Paper Crane Corona Gorda Box Press soon if you are holding on to any.

Each third delivered flavor combinations at varying levels of intensity that kept my attention and has me wanting to seek out more. With the Paper Crane sporting an Ecuadorian Connecticut, it reinforces that James Brown at Black Works Studio can deliver cigar blends across the entire strength spectrum.
