For me, this is kind of the comfort food of cigars: rich, hearty, and flavorful. Sometimes it works really well, sometimes it's good but not spectacular, in some instances, it simply adds up on the aspects that lean towards comfort, rather than cuisine. Other times, it layers on those rich, familiar flavors that makes a meal one of those ones you want to lick the plate clean. Either way, this is the kind of cigar you light up, settle in, and be ready for the kind of sensation that what I consider to be a proper supper would deliver.

The Crowned Heads Broadway Epicure offered a restrained and balanced start, highlighted by sweet tobacco, nutmeg and some subtle vegetal notes. Unfortunately, the profile lost its balance in the second and final thirds, as dryness and bitterness began to weigh down the experience. The burn and draw were excellent throughout, but overall the flavor performance couldn’t sustain the promise of the first third.
