Herrera Esteli Edicion Limitada 2014 Lancero

This is an extremely well balanced cigar, but it doesn’t have a great deal of transitions to its flavor profile. There is a good amount of white pepper sharpness initially that tails off as the cigar burns but never really disappears completely. I found it to have a relatively salty foundation , with buttery, creamy overtones . There is a cedar back-note, with flashes of nutmeg early on and milk chocolate later in the smoke. Overall, it is creamy deliciousness through and through. Strength is a good medium, that may reach medium-full by the band point.

Well-rolled insofar as tight, even seams and being sans hard/soft spots and/or overly softening of density via progression; the draw though is a bit hesitant hither and thither. That-said, my smoke-hole is well satiated/saturated, so calls me a picker a' nits. I will continue down that road, humsoever, to include that this Herrera Esteli Miami prefers double-triple puffings which seem to lead to occasional and small threats of over-smoking. Burn-line is not perfect, but even 'nuff to not warrant

This is my favorite size of the Herrera Esteli, and not just because it’s my preferred vitola. The flavor, the burn, the draw—all just seem better. The clove not was odd, but enjoyable; the sweetness that I was able to pick up combined with the base of wood notes, mainly cedar, made for the most balanced vitola of a line known for its balance.
