A big, box-pressed cigar with a pigtail cap and closed foot. The smoke’s drier, woodier qualities combine with sweeter notes of orange creamsicle and wisps of minerals and leather before a slightly ashy finish. The draw is even, though the burn is quite crooked.

The Kristoff 685 Woodlawn is about as good as anything I can remember trying from Kristoff's portfolio, though I still have a fondness for the Lanceros in their Sumatra and Criollo lines. There seems to be a layer of complexity missing from the 685 Woodlawn that keeps it from being a truly stellar cigar, as the flavor is much more a progression of intensity than an experience of having subtle nuances appear and disappear. At this point, it's a very likable cigar that makes a nice addition to the upper end of Kristoff's portfolio.

The Kristoff 685 Woodlawn Box Pressed Toro TAA 2021 certainly brings its A game for presentation and a fairly good flavor profile through the first two thirds. I would happily smoke another Kristoff 685 Woodlawn Box Pressed Toro TAA 2021, and if you enjoyed the flavor notes, I'd recommend seeking them out.
