Today I’m smoking a cigar some would consider an unsung staple in the Oliva portfolio, Oliva Serie G, and I’m firing up a 5 by 54 Double Robusto. The truth is, Serie G is simply outshined by other illustrious Oliva cigars like the original Serie V and the former ‘#1 Cigar of the Year,’ Serie V Melanio. Oliva Serie G predates both of those and has been rated 90 points or higher on numerous occasions in addition to making the ‘Top 25’ in Cigar Aficionado.

It's a cigar. Not a stogie nor work of art, be. Pairings : Strongly brewed coffee, maybe iced. Cola was a bit beaten-down. Manischewitz Concord Grape might have pulled some more red fruity dimensions.

The Oliva Serie G Robusto provided a nice, classic flavor profile and walked that fine line with the bitterness through the first two thirds on the positive side. As the bitterness reemerged and built up in the final third, it dropped the enjoyment level down a bit. The price point on the cigar is fantastic and with the flavor profile delivered, it's a no brainer to come back to and recommend.
