Punch Bottle Rocket

Halfwheel · Mar 9, 2026 · Feb. 3, 2025

When I originally smoked the Punch Bottle Rocket, I liked the overall profile but found that the flavor didn't quite shine as brightly as I had hoped, nor did it offer the best expressions of the core flavors or give the accent flavors a chance to shine. A year later, it seems like those problems have largely been rectified. The profile still likes to hit some pretty fundamental flavors and embrace them fully—earth and pepper being the two main ones—but the subtle addition and subtraction of creaminess through the second third stands out as a really positive development, while the sudden transition to woodiness in the final third was one I didn't see coming but enjoyed very much. A year later, I really like where the Punch Bottle Rocket is at, and while we don't factor price into reviews, knowing that this cigar in its fairly short format and with its fairly quick smoking time can do all this for an MSRP just under $7 is even more impressive. This is one of those cigars that I probably wouldn't have picked up more of when I first smoked it, but after a year in the humidor, I now find myself wishing I had a few more on hand.

Punch Bottle Rocket

Cigar Aficionado · May 6, 2025 · Cigar Insider

An oily mini belicoso with an open draw and even combustion. It’s a bold smoke that leaves impressions of earth, leather, coffee and cayenne pepper. Some sweet hints of graham cracker precede a woody, honey-like finish.

Punch Bottle RocketYear of the Snake 2025

CigarCzars · May 13, 2025

Punch Bottle Rocket cigars are made in Honduras with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan Esteli binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran fillers. The cigars became available in February 2025, in one small figurado size (4.5 x 50) priced at $6.99 per stick. For more information about these cigars, please check out thepress release. Punch Bottle Rocket cigars were made to commemorate the new lunar Year of the Snake. This has become an annual tradition for Punch, which has been producing an annual special limited edition cigar since 2019, in celebration of Chinese new years. The blend, size and name of each annual release varies from year to year. For example, thePunch Dragon Fire Cigar(5 x 60) was produced in 2024 to commemorate the Year of the Dragon. The sample Punch Bottle Rocket cigar started off with a bold, full bodied, sweet and peppery flavor. After a few puffs, the pepper tamed down a bit as the sweetness gradually started to fade away. By the 5 to 10-minute mark, the predominate flavors were earth, pepper and spice. After another 5 to 10 minutes, a leather taste joined the mix and the texture of the smoke became a bit smoother. I ashed the cigar only one time at the 20-minute mark, and applied a minor touch-up light shortly thereafter. The flavors remained pretty consistent for the remainder of the smoke. It took me 40 minutes to smoke the sample Punch Bottle Rocket small figurado down to about 1½ inches remaining. During that time, the cigar had a good draw, even burn and held a long ash. No relights were required, only the one minor touch-up at the halfway point. The Punch Bottle Rocket is a firecracker of a cigar, especially during the first 15 to 20 minutes. It is not a cigar that is recommended for beginners. However, seasoned cigar smokers are more likely to appreciate its bold flavor and full body. I rate it with a very good 4 points on a 5-point scale.

PUNCH BOTTLE ROCKET

Earth, spice, and a bit of sweetness. Swishing the smoke around brings out a pleasant oak. The usual suspects so far. Clean retrohale. Spice sticks around on the finish until the next pull.Excellent draw and smoke output. Solid burn.Bottle Rocket remains fairly close to the ground, doing that spinning thing rather than blas

Punch Bottle Rocket

Developing Palates · Jul 4, 2025 · February 2025

The Punch Bottle Rocket had an average flavor profile through the first two thirds, as the main components of toasted cedar, earth and black pepper all had a bit of staleness to them. The profile took a step down in the final third as some vegetal bitterness masked some of the supporting notes. Overall, not an exciting cigar, as the staleness but a damper on the overall profile. It's a price friendly cigar that makes it an easy try, but it's not something I'd come back to.
