Baking chocolate | Black pepper | Cumin Straight-forward and consistently-so. Not linear, per se. Quite hefty and quite more black peppery, but not in a cumbersome nor abrasive manner. You get the baking chocolate, cumin-led red spices (paprika, cayenne), and they're pulled forward by a casual juggernaut of black peppercorn, cracked here and there. The rest is a weighty far-down underbelly of inky earth, made savory via leathery inclusions. A ding in performance is a tick of a resistant draw, wh

With its firm draw and uneven burn, this cigar offers a smoke of damp earth, wood and a fleeting hint of cocoa before the bitter finish.

Sweetness surrounds dark earth, dark chocolate, and spice at the start. Smoke attempts to fill the room after an easy draw.Dark earth allows for hints of milk chocolate on the retrohale. The finish leaves spice, milk chocolate, and dark earth like passengers patiently waiting for the next bus to an amusement park. No hurry. We’re on vacation.

Punch Knuckle Buster Maduro cigars are made in Honduras with Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers, Indonesian binders, and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. The cigars were introduced in March 2022, and are available in three sizes including a Toro (6 x 50) priced at $5.69 per cigar, which is the subject of this review. For more information, please check out thepress release. The sample Punch Knuckle Buster Toro cigar began with an enjoyable Maduro sweetness, which was joined by a leather flavor along with some subtle-to-modest spice after the first several puffs. However, the sweetness stuck around a few minutes longer in one of the samples, and was more noticeable. The smoke was medium-to-full bodied, but closer to medium-plus in the sweeter sample. As the cigar continued to be smoked, leather became the predominate flavor, along with some spicy sweetness in the background. These flavors were pretty consistent for the duration of the smoking session, after the predominantly sweet start. The cigar had a very good draw, held a medium-to-long ash, and burned evenly (for the most part). No touch-ups nor relights we're needed, and it took me an average of 50 minutes to smoke a Punch Knuckle Buster Maduro Toro down to two inches remaining. I found the Punch Knuckle Buster Maduros to be enjoyable and good cigars worthy of a rating of 3.75 points on a 5-point scale. They are not meant for special occasions, but at a price of only $5.69 per stick, they are a great value and deserve a place in many a cigar smoker's humidor.
