Citrus | Caramel | Paprika Citrus and white pepper out-of-the-gate in a slightly muffled boom. They settle in and evolve warmly, digging trenches via their progression. Citrus churns out its own paprika accompaniment, as does white pepper find an at the time independent sweet cedar. Caramel comes onboard. All swirl about in a delineated although bleeding-over-boundaries manner. Paprika picks up other red spice accompaniments and steers slowly, easily. Supple pale leather laid out over dirt trail

This rouge-hued robusto is silky and box-pressed. The smoke is rich and aromatic, complementing flavors of leather and wood. It has notes of cherry and a fine finish. Medium to full in body.

Punch Cigars started the year off with the release of the Punch Rare Corojo Aristocrat. The annual release uses a frontmark that was pulled from the Punch archives and is expressed in a a burly 6.125” x 40/54 figurado. This special size was originally made at the Villazon factory, commissioned by Frank Llaneza who founded Punch Read more about Cigar Review: Punch Rare Corojo Aristocrat – Rated 90[…]

Very rarely am I this optimistic that a cigar will get better with time. Whether it’s the harshness, dryness or the bizarre detour into that very dry olor-like flavor in the second third, there are some things that I’d like to see go away, and I think aging might improve them. At so many points, I just wanted to tell the Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary to calm down a bit. There’s a lot to like—robust flavors, dynamic changes and pretty solid construction—but even if this was being sold as an “in your face cigar,” which I don’t think it is, there’s very obvious room to improve. Look for a follow-up redux review at some point in 2027.

Holt's Staff Reviews · Jul 1, 2021
I anxiously await the annual release of my favorite Punch cigar: Rare Corojo Magnum – a chunky 5.25 x 54 shape finished in an oily Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. The Punch brand has been a staple in the cigar industry for over 150 years. Granted, for most of that time, Punch cigars made in Cuba have occupied the spotlight. In the 1960s, the trademark for Punch was purchased for use in the United States. Punch cigars sold here, however, are obviously not Cuban. Today they’re mostly made in Honduras, while a few blends are also produced in Nicaragua. Since 1997, Punch cigars sold in the U.S.Read full review on Holt's Staff Reviews

Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary cigars are Honduran puros made in Honduras with a Corojo wrapper and Corojo binder together with a blend of Habano and Corojo filler tobaccos. While previous releases were limited-edition cigars, both this new 25th Anniversary cigar and the original blend will now be available full-time. The new Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary was released during March 2026 in one Toro size (6 x 54) priced at $10.99 per cigar. For more information about these cigars, please check out thepress release. The sample Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary cigar had a sweet and spicy start for the first few puffs, then the flavor quickly changed to wood and spice without the sweetness. After about 15 minutes, hints of sweetness began to return when I ashed the cigar for the first time. The flavor then gradually improved a bit and the smoke became smoother during the next 20 minutes, when I ashed the cigar for the second time. During the rest of the smoking session, the flavors of wood, modest spice and subtle sweetness continued until the end. During the 60 minutes that it took me to smoke the 25th Anniversary Toro from the start down to 1½ inches remaining, the cigar had a very good draw, held a medium-to-long ash, and burned mostly evenly and somewhat quickly in the beginning, but then later slowed down. No relights nor touch-ups were needed, and a slight but occasional uneven burn managed to correct itself. I enjoyed the Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary from start to finish, especially during the second third of the cigar. The blend and flavor are not the same as the original, but both blends are very enjoyable and worthy of the same very good rating of 4 points on a 5-point scale. Go ahead and compare for yourself, try them both!

Developing Palates · Jul 6, 2026 · April 2026
The Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary is a cigar that showcases an unusually sophisticated wood profile and excellent balance early on. Unfortunately, the profile gradually loses complexity and finishes with increasing dryness and bitterness. While the strong opening and excellent construction make for an enjoyable experience overall, the cigar ultimately settles into average territory due to its lack of progression through the latter stages.
